It started just like every other day:
I woke without suspecting I might win
the lottery; I washed and didn’t think
of ways to rid mankind of anything;
I ate my breakfast without word from God.
I caught the tram and nobody invaded.
My work was only boring in between
the tea breaks. Didn’t win the Nobel prize
and met no other life forms going home.
No house on my side of the street was odd.
I thought I’d take a photograph which proved
the day had happened, but I couldn’t spot
the difference when the lens cap was removed.
I think the auto focus must be shot.
